Amazing food! The service is fast and the entire staff is friendly. The vibe in the little establishment is great. I highly recommend Lou's, their Zeps and cheese steaks are phenomenal!
Listen, forget the city just come here for a great cheesesteak! Listen, as soon as I walked up I know the vibe was right. When I walked in the music was vibing the staff was cool. This place has been around many years. They open early but close at 4pm so be mindful of that. I literally would drive out of my way to come back next time we visiting Philly. This visit I got the chicken Philly cheese steak. Chicken is shredded thin like the regular and he adds butter to keep it from drying out. The bread was delicious, the meat was delicious, the cheese was delicious. Only thing I would say is stay away from the mushrooms. They are just mushrooms from a can/jar so they took away from the sandwich for me- I took them out. Seriously amazing sandwich. Highly recommend!
Their food is delicious!! Whether it is a breakfast omelette, French toast, etc, it's all delicious! And lunch, you just won't believe the Zeps, they are the BEST!! Love the atmosphere!!, It's a classic old time diner feeling. Makes me remember those special times my parents would take us out to a lunch counter type restaurant. The staff is AWESOME, they have a walking encyclopedia, Gloria, who knows everyone, everything and is always ready for a good hard laugh. They aren't open all week, but when they are, take advantage of great food and a good laugh or two!

Located in Norristown Lou's was established in 1941.... And apparently it has not changed!!! Tons of counter seating, booths along the left hand wall but they were built when folks were smaller so if have someone girth you may not feel comfortable. Very friendly service!!! Specializes in "zeps" sandwiches served on a round roll. We had the other specialty a garlic bread cheesesteak which did not disappoint!!! Tasty and delicious Onion rings were slightly overdone but tasty. Hand dipped milkshakes old school !!!!! Italian hoagie was very good Only criticism was that the food did not come out all together Onion rings Italian hoagie Milkshake Then 10 minutes later the cheesesteaks Regardless I'm hooked I'll return !!!
